Jorie Johnson as "Nefertiti"

Jorie

Jorie K. Johnson started her career in theater in an unlikely place - under the stage, as an orchestral pit member. Her skills on the clarinet and later saxophone allowed her to participate in multiple musical productions in her high school and college years. At the suggestion of the drama director, Jorie emerged from the pit and took part in her first stage production as Francis Flute/Thisby in A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Her passion
for theater was ignited and she continued to stay on top of the stage through her scholastic days. After taking a hiatus from performing, Jorie returned to the theater full force in 2008 as "Sister Chantelle" in the All Alike Production of BARE. Shortly after BARE, Johnson relocated to the Chicagoland area in 2009 to further cultivate her God given gifts and quickly landed the
lead role as "Coffee" in Plus Size Production’s Afflictions and worked as the female lead singer in local Chicago soul/rock band The Midnight Shows.
Currently, Jorie is involved with multiple projects including L. Cyrus Productions’ I’ve Been Redeemed (October 2011), Ne-Ke Productions’ Caught Up (December 2011) as Assistant Director, and back up singer for Reely Dan – A Steely Dan Tribute Band.
